Styles

Here is a list of different Lolita Styles! Will update soon with descriptions and pictures!
  • Shiro/Kuro
    • As simple as it sounds, it is basically having your whole outfit to be either white or black completely.

  • Guro
    • Guro in Japanese means "gory". To some people, it makes lolita seem like a type of costume or cosplay when one does gory lolita, but the style is about looking like a broken doll. A simple outfit will be any other type of lolita style but you can have a bandage (i.e. an eyepatch) or you can have a dress or apron with blood splattered.
  • Gothic
    • This style has gothic aesthetics in the outfits. The colors can be dark like blacks, greys, royal blue, and it can be light colors like white, silver, and gold. Motifs are crosses, bats, coffins, and even a few religious influences. Fabric can be the same as the other styles (cotton) but velvet and silk are favorites because it is more like victorian fashion.

  • Classic
    • A more refined and elegant style that have outfits that are simple and neutral. The shape is different from the other styles because it is an A-line, not a cupcake or bell shaped skirt. Unlike the other styles (other than gothic and aristocrat) skirts and dresses can either be knee-length or longer. Colors are neutral like ivory, wine, navy, and black and not much detail is put into the outfits other than prints. Accessories can include bonnets and headdresses. Corsets are popular to add to the outfit or for skirts and dresses to have built in corsets or corset lacing.

  • Ama/Kote/Sweet

  • Circus
